Huawei has confirmed that its 2017 lineup of devices, the Honor 7X, Honor 8, Honor 8 Pro and Honor 9 will get the EMUI 8.0 with Oreo update in the coming days. Some of the devices have already starts getting the Oreo update (for example Honor 8 Pro) in some region and other devices will also get the update in the coming weeks. Huawei has also revealed the ETA for the roll out.

There were rumors about Honor 8 Oreo update, but Huawei has confirmed the Oreo update for the device as well. At Honor 9 Lite launch event, the company revealed that Honor 8 will get the Oreo update in the second quarter of this year. However, it seems that the device may not get new Emotion UI and some of the new features.

EMUI 8.0, based on the Android 8.0 Oreo comes with AI-based optimizations for greater stability, fluidity and speed of the device. Besides Oreo features, EMUI 8 also features new floating Navigation dock, 3D dynamic lock screen wallpapers, PrivateSpace, HiVoice and Hiboard, Recycle bin for gallery, multi Bluetooth connectivity, and more.
