Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo starts receiving the Android 9 Pie update in India. The update includes Samsung’s latest Android skin One UI, Night Mode, Digital Wellbeing, bug fixes, optimizations, and July 2019 security patches. Currently, Galaxy J7 Duo model SM- J720F in India is receiving the update with firmware version J720FDDU4BSG7.

Samsung has already upgraded many of their non-flagship phones to Android-Pie based One UI, such as Galaxy On7, Galaxy J4, Galaxy J6, Galaxy J8, Galaxy A6, etc. Now, Galaxy J7 Duo starts getting the One UI update, which weighs around 1.2GB in size.

The most important change in this update is One UI (version 1.1), Samsung latest Android skin based on the Android 9 Pie. It will bring new features and a completely new look and feel. July 2019 Android security patch (1 July 2019) is another important change of the update.

Download and Installation Guide

Galaxy J7 Duo (SM- J720F) One UI update (build J720FDDU4BSG7) OTA update is now live. Check the OTA by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

In case you want to install the One UI update manually on your phone, download the firmware from the link (will be updated soon) and flash manually as given below.

  • Download the firmware to your PC from above link and unzip it. You will get AP, BL, CP and CSC files
  • Download Odin tool and install it on your computer
  • Run Odin.exe file on your Windows PC, add 4 files mentioned above in the respective fields.
  • Boot your phone into DOWNLOAD mode and connect it to PC via original USB cable. Wait until you get a blue sign in Odin COM port

  • In Odin, click “Option” tab and make sure F.Reset Time and Auto-Reboot boxes are ticked. Do not tick any other boxes
  • Finally, click the “Start” button and wait until you see a green Pass message in Odin.
