The camera app on Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a Pro mode to capture good shots, but this Mode only supports primary and ultrawide cameras. Samsung decided to bring the Pro mode to the telephoto camera as well. The company starts rolling out a new Expert RAW camera app for the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Here is how to get it right now.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a quad-camera setup consisting of a 108 MP primary lens, 12MP ultra-wide lens, 10MP (10x Zoom) periscope lens, and 10MP (3x Zoom) telephoto lens. The Expert RAW camera app lets users make full use of all the cameras in Pro mode and help them capture outstanding photos and videos.

The new app lets users set the exposure value, focus, ISO, shutter speed, and white balance controls and capture good images and videos. The app brings Linear DNG 16bit raw, Lossless JPEG, HDR, ISO, shutter speed, EV, Manual Focus, White Balance, Histogram support to all cameras on the phone. You can also adjust the highlights, shadows, saturation, and tint in this app.

As of this writing, the Expert RAW camera app is a beta version, and it is available for Galaxy S21 Ultra running on One UI 4 (Android 12). The camera app is now available on Galaxy Store as a beta version in Korea.

Interested users can try the new app by downloading the APK (link) and sideloading it manually on the phone. Samsung may release the app globally after the beta testing successfully completed.

UPDATE:

Samsung has updated the Expert Raw camera app with bug fixes and improvements. The latest version (v1.0.00.16) has the following changes.

  • Changed Adobe Lightroom GUI in Viewer
  • Fix the problem that the app does not run after downloading
  • Fix pixel blur at the edges of dng video
  • Improved JPG quality at night
