June 5, 2019: Realme fixed the bootloop issue of ColorOS 6 update for the Realme 2 Pro and resumed the OTA roll out. Devices run on the Android Oreo and updated when exiting the bootloop will get the stable ColorOS 6 (Android Pie) OTA update starting from today. However, to get the OTA update, Oreo users need to fill up a form with their IMEI number.

Realme 2 Pro is a budget phone with dewdrop FHD+ full-screen display, Snapdragon 660 AIE octa-core processor, 8GB/4GB RAM, and dual main camera. Launched with Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2, the Realme 2 Pro just received Android 9.0 Pie based ColorOS 6.0 update. The update adds several new features to the phone.

ColorOS 6 update for Realme 2 Pro (Build number: RMX1801EX_11.A.20) updates the system to Android 9 Pie. The update comes with several UI overhauls, May 2019 security patches, app drawer, Chroma boost mode for the camera, Realme Theme store, lock screen magazine, and much more.

ColorOS 6 incremental OTA update for Realme 2 Pro is live now. It will take a couple of days to complete the update. Since this is the major software upgrade, you cannot downgrade to previous ColorOS 5.2. We recommend updating your device to this version, as it includes several value-added features and latest security patches to protect you from vulnerabilities.

Installation

1. Copy the firmware zip file to the root directory of your phone.

2. Turn off the phone. Press and hold the Volume Down and the Power buttons simultaneously until booting into recovery mode.

3. In recovery, select language > From phone storage > Select the ColouOS OTA package > tap OK to install the OTA.

Once installation completes, tap Reboot to boot your phone into new ColorOS version.

Update -1: Due to bootloop issue, Realme halted the ColorOS 6 update for Realme 2 Pro. Many users who have applied the update manually are reporting about bootloops. We expect that the company will soon resolve the issue, so don’t install this update until the issue resolved.

Update – 3: Realme solved the hiccup of ColorOS 6 update for the Realme 2 Pro and starts rolling out the stable update to a small section of users. Both users (run on ColorOS 5.2 and upgraded to ColorOS 6) will get the OTA update. It will take a couple of weeks to complete the upgrade process.

  1. Many users are reporting about this issue and Realme now stopped the update. In order to resolve the issue users need to go to the service center to flash a new version, says Realme.

  2. i installed and after pressing reboot it’s not going forward..it got stuck on REALME yellow screen.
    I restarted so many times but nothing is going to happend.
