After being released in China, the MIUI10 Global Stable version for Xiaomi Mi 5S has been officially released for the global market as version 10.1.1.0.NAGMIFI. Currently, MIUI 10 Global Stable OTA update is available on Redmi Note 5 Pro, Mi 5, Mi 6, Mi Mix, Mi Mix 2s, Mi Mix 2, Mi Note 2, Mi 8, Redmi 5 Plus, Mi Max 3, Redmi 6, Redmi Notes 4/4X and Redmi Note 6 Pro.
Note that, upgrading to MIUI 10 version does not change the Android version on Xiaomi Mi 5S. The device will remain on the old Android Nougat 7.0. However, the update will bring several new features and UI changes that look very close to Android Pie to the phone. In addition, you will feel smoother than ever in all areas of the system with the new AI preloading.
As always, the update will be available via OTA (over-the-air) and it will take a few days to complete the roll out. If you do not want to wait for the OTA, you can download the MIUI 10 (V10.1.1.0.NAGMIFI) Global Stable ROM update Zip file and install it manually on Mi 5S.
How to Install the update on Mi 5S
1. Download MIUI 10.1.1.0.NAGMIFI Global Stable ROM update Zip file [HERE] and transfer it to Mi 5S.
2. On your phone, go to Settings > About phone > System updates > Menu (3 dots at the top right) > Choose the update package.
3. Just select the update Zip file you just downloaded to start the installation process.
Note: You can also install the update via TWRP recovery. In addition, the updating process will not wipe data from the phone. However, we recommend data backup before installing any new software update. Just in case!
