Xiaomi has already rolled out Android 9 Pie stable OTA update for Mi A2 Lite (V10.0.2.0.PDLMIFJ) in several regions. Install Android 9 Pie Update on Xiaomi-Mi-A2-Lite

There is another good news for Mi A2 Lite owners! Xiaomi released January 2019 security update for beta testers. The update comes with build number V10.0.4.0 and includes several bug fixes and performance improvements. The update will be available through stable channel sooner or later.

For various reasons you might want to install fastboot ROM on your Mi A2 Lite. For example, if you have made any system modification, installed TWRP recovery or enabled root access.

Requirements:

– ADB and Fastboot driver setup on the PC (details)
– Unlocked bootloader & USB Debugging enabled in your phone
– Backup all important data
– More than 50% battery charge remaining

How to Back up your Mi phone?

Go to Settings > Additional Settings > Backup & Reset > Local Backups. After creating the backup, connect your phone to PC, and copy the backup folder (MIUI > Backups > All Backups) to your PC. You can also abck up to Mi Cloud (Settings > Mi Account > Mi Cloud)

How to Install Official Android 9 Pie Fastboot ROM on Mi A2 Lite

There are two methods to install Android 9 Pie Fastboot ROM on Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite.

Method 1: With Mi Flash tool

1. Download and install Mi Flashing Tool [HERE] on your computer.

2. Download Mi A2 Lie fastboot ROM (V10.0.2.0.PDLMIFJ) [HERE] [Official Page] to your computer.

3. Turn off Mi A2 Lite. Press the Volume Down + Power buttons together to enter into Fastboot mode.

4. Connect the phone to PC.

5. Double click on the downloaded Fastboot ROM.tgz file to unzip it. Open the file folder for the unzipped ROM pack, and copy its path on the computer.

6. Open Mi Flashing Tool and paste the ROM file folder path into the address bar.

7. Click the ‘Refresh’ button on Flashing tool. Your phone should automatically recognize your phone. (If not, install proper driver for your device).

8. Now, click ‘Flash’ button to flash the ROM file to your phone. Once the installation process is finished, your device should automatically boot to the new version.

Method 2: Without Mi Flash tool
