Recently Huawei updated Honor 7X and few other devices with Face Unlock function, but it seems that the Honor 8 Pro will not get this function, even after the Android Oreo update, the device is capable of though. Face Unlock is readily available in Honor 8 Pro, but it is disabled by default. If you would like to use this function, here is how to enable it on your device.

If your Honor 8 Pro is updated to Android Oreo (EMUI 8), then you can enable the Face Unlock on it, but requires root access and TWRP recovery on the phone. Thanks to the XDA contributor Ante0, ported form Honor View 10 firmware, this will work on other Huawei phones as well, such as Mate 9, P10 Plus and possibly more.

Enable Face Unlock on Honor 8 Pro

To remind you, Face Unlock is a built-in feature of Android (Lollipop and above), however some OEMs will not enable this on their devices. Of course, Android’s built-in function might not always recognize your face, but OEMs like OnePlus use special software to make it accurate. So the overall unlocking process will be quick and accurate.

Face Unlock might be a handy feature for your phone, as it lets you bypass the lock screen by just looking at the phone. Tech-savvy users can enable this function on their device by flashing port via TWRP.

How to enable Face Unlock on Honor 8 Pro?

With Face Unlock, you can unlock your phone by just looking on it. Your device will unlock when your face is recognized. You can enable/disable this function by going to Settings > Security and privacy > Face Unlock.
