All you need a Nokia 7 Plus runs official Android 8.1 Oreo (build version 2.22M) and ADB setup on your PC. Below is the step-by-step guide to sideload Android 9 Pie stable OTA update (build V3.22C) on Nokia 7 Plus. Following prerequisites are required to install the Pie update.

Requirements:

  • Android 9 Pie stable OTA update file V3.22C [link below]
  • Nokia 7 Plus runs Android 8.1 Oreo V2.22M
  • More than 70% battery charge on the phone
  • Backup important data on the phone

How to Install Android 9 Pie Stable Update on Nokia 7 Plus Manually

1. Download Nokia 7 Plus Android 9 Pie Stable OTA update file from here.

2. Save the OTA zip file inside ADB installation folder/Platform Tools folder

3. Boot Nokia 7 Plus into stock Recovery

[To do so, turn off the phone completely. Now, press and hold Power + Volume Up buttons together until you see ‘No command’ appears on the screen. Hold the Power button and tap the Volume Up key once to enter into stock recovery]

4. From stock Recovery, navigate to ‘Apply update from ADB’ option (use Volume keys) and select it using Power button.

5. Connect Nokia 7 Plus to your PC via a USB cable

6. Open a command window from where the Android 9 Pie OTA zip file is saved

7. Execute the command ‘adb devices’ to ensure your connection with your PC.

[You will see your device ID. If not, install proper driver files on the PC]

8. Now, type the command ‘adb sideload ota-update.zip’ and hit Enter key

[Replace the “ota-update.zip” with the actual filename of the OTA file]

9. Once the installation process finishes, select ‘Reboot system now’ on your phone.

You have now installed Android 9 Pie stable OTA update on your Nokia 7 Plus. The update will bring following new features to your phone.
