OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T have received new OxygenOS update through the beta channel with May 2018 security patch and added features. OxygenOS Open Beta 10 for OnePlus 5 and Open Beta 8 for OnePlus 5T will include new features for Launcher and messaging app, optimization for OnePlus Switch, alongside general bug fixes.

Last month, OnePlus released stable Android 8.1 Oreo based OxygenOS 5.1.1 update for both OnePlus 5 and 5T, while the beta build allows users to try out new features before they arrive for everyone. The OxygenOS Open Beta 10 and Open Beta 8 includes following added features and optimizations.

  • Updated Android security patch to May 2018
  • Added Toolbox card in Shelf
  • Added Hidded Space in App drawer
  • Added support for editing dynamic icons (Weather, Clock and Calendar)
  • Added group MMS for Messaging app
  • Optimized OnePlus Switch UI for backup & restore
  • Optimized logic for time remaining
  • General bug fixes and stability improvements

The update is now rolling out through OTA for beta participants. If you would like to install OxygenOS Open beta manually and want to enjoy the latest features of Android 8.1 Oreo based OxygenOS Open Beta 10 and 8 on your OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 5T, then you can download and install the full ROM.
