After releasing Oreo beta program for Axon 7 A2017V variant, ZTE now starts Android 8.0 Oreo beta program for US variant Axon 7 A2017U. Any Axon 7 owners in the US can enroll for this beta program and test out all the features of Android Oreo right now, but you should qualify a simple survey by the company to be able to get the beta update.

The Android Oreo update will bring features like Picture in Picture (PIP) mode, Auto-fill, Smart text selection, background app limitations, quick boot, new Quick settings design, and more to the device. XTE-Axon-7

Axon 7 was released in 2016 with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow onboard and later it was updated to Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It has also got some minor update also during this period. Last month, ZTE updated the device with Blueborne and Wi-Fi KRACK vulnerability fixes.

Note that, ZTE’s Oreo update will be slightly different from company’s previous MiFavor UX. The Oreo update will bring near stock Android experience to users, but it keeps all the most popular features of the MiFavor UX in it.
