Great news for Mi A2 Lite users! Xiaomi start rolling out the AI powered Beta version of Android 9 Pie for Mi A2 Lite. The update is now available for users who are signed up for the Android Pie beta-testing program (the company recently recruited users for the beta testing). The stable roll out of the Pie update is expected by December 2018.
Android Pie update will bring new features like FM Radio, Adaptive brightness, Adaptive battery, new gesture navigation, and much more on Mi A2 Lite. It also features the latest security patch, and will improve overall performance of the device. Below is what is new in this update.
Changelog:
– Android 9.0 Pie
– FM Radio
– Adaptive battery and brightness
– Simpler way to navigate the phone
– Recommended apps and actions based on your context
If you are signed up for the Pie beta testing, check for the OTA update manually on your device by going to Settings > About Phone > Software updates > to check for the new software update. If update found, tap on download and install.
The update file size is around 1GB, so recommend Wi-Fi or 4G network for downloading the file. Also, ensure more than 70% battery charge remaining in Mi A2 Lite to prevent any accidental shutdown of the phone during the installation process.
Mi A2 Lite was released under the Android One program, so the device will get the monthly security patch updates. November 2018 security patch has already been available for the device. [source]
