After being rolled the Android 7.0 Nougat based Sense 8 ROM for HTC 10 in the US and European regions, HTC now starts rolling out Google’s latest and sweetest Android Nougat for HTC 10 in India. HTC India confirmed the Sense 8 update and the OTA (over-the-air) update would reach on all HTC 10 within a week or more. If you have any issue downloading the OTA update, you can also download and install the full firmware file manually.
The Android 7.0 Nougat based Sense 8 update is rolling out via OTA and as it is rolling out in phases, it will take several days to get the update notification on all devices. If you have not received the OTA notification, you can manually check it from the Home screen tap All apps > Settings > About > Software updates > Check now > Download.
If update found, download it and once the download is complete, tap the System update to begin the upgrade process. After updating, your device will reboot.
Now, if you are outside of Wi-Fi coverage, or the update is not found due to some unknown reasons, you can perform a manual system update via USB connection to a PC. However, you need to download the massive firmware file (RUU.exe) (around 1.8GB) to your PC to install manually.
Note: Full firmware (RUU.exe) for HTC 10 in India is not live yet. When it became available, we will provide the details.
How to Install Sense 8 (Android 7.0) on HTC 10 Manually
1. Download and install HTC Sync Manager on your PC.
2. Download HTC One 10 Nougat RRU.exe update file to your PC (download link will update soon).
3. Connect your phone to your PC. Once the device is properly recognized, navigate to Nougat RRU update exe file and double-click on the exe file. It will launch the system update wizard.
4. Follow all of the system update wizard instructions shown on your PC. Once done, click Finish in the wizard and your phone will reboot. Enjoy!
