Every year, Xiaomi releases new firmware updates for its devices, and the big thing for this year from the OEM will be the MIUI 12 skin over Android 11. As per the release pattern of Xiaomi, the beta version of MIUI 12 is expecting to arrive soon, probably in May or June 2020, but there is a chance to delay the schedule due to the KOVID-19 pandemic.

Surely, all the most current Xiaomi devices will get the MIUI 12 builds over Android 11. A recent unofficial list unveils that more than 30 devices in Xiaomi Mi and Redmi series will be eligible for the MIUI 12 update. Now, with the MIUI 12 Eligibility Test app, you can check your Xiaomi phone for MIUI 12 eligibility.

The MIUI 12 Eligibility Test app isn’t an official app, and its developer Alpha Developers Official says that the app can tell whether your device will support MIUI 12 update or not. Interested users can download the app from the Play Store (link) and test your device with this app.

Update: MIUI 12 Eligibility Test is an early access app and the Play Store link states that “the early access program is currently full. Space may open up earlier”.

A recent MIUI 12 news reveals that Xiaomi is prepping up the successor to last year’s MIUI 11 with new features, and UI design. The leak tells that the MIUI 12 will have new Refresh rate switching, enhanced Focus mode, and system-wide dark mode.

You can also expect a new navigation bar, new gestures, new UI for the camera, new icons, a new notification system, improved privacy system, new system health service, and more in MIUI 12.

Keep in mind that not all the MIUI 12 builds will be over Android 11. Depending on the device age and family, the MIUI 12 update will be of Android 10 and Android 11. Xiaomi follows this method with the previous launches, including the MIUI 11.
