LeEco Le Pro3 and Le Pro3 Elite may not get official Oreo update, but with LineageOS 15.1 you can enjoy Android 8.1 and features like Trebuchet Launcher, Snap camera, AudioFX, Jelly browser, Eleven Music Player, Live Display, Recorder, Android P’s Lockdown, various gestures, Extreme power saving mode and more.

Installing custom ROM on LeEco Le Pro3 is not a simple process. It requires unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery on the device. Everything is given in details below.

First of all, backup all important data (the below given guide will factory reset your device) and ensure at least 50% battery charge remaining on the phone. Also, the guide requires ADB and Fastboot setup on your PC.

How to unlock LeEco Le Pro3 / Le Pro3 Elite Bootloader?

1. Go to Settings > About Phone > tap build number repeatedly to enable Developer Options.

2. Return to the settings menu and under Developer Options menu enable OEM Unlock and USB Debugging.

3. Connect your phone to PC, go to ADB directory and issue the command ‘adb reboot bootloader’ to boot your device into bootloader.

4. Now, issue the command ‘fastboot devices’ to verify your PC find your device.

5. Now, issue the command ‘fastboot oem unlock-go’ to unlock your device’s bootloader.

6. Reboot your device, go to Developer Options and enable USB debugging again.

How to Install TWRP Recovery?

1. Download latest version of TWRP recovery for your device from here.

2. Rename the file to ‘recovery’ and save where ADB is installed.

3. Switch off your phone and boot into fastboot mode by pressing Volume Down + Power button.

4. Open a command window inside ADB directory and issue the command ‘fastboot devices’. If your device identifies, then issue the command ‘fastboot flash recovery recovery.img’.

5. Once done, switch off the device and press Power + Volume Up to verify the installation.

How to Install LineageOS 15.1 on LeEco Le Pro3 / Le Pro3 Elite

1. Download latest version of LineageOS 15.1 build from here.

2. Download Gapps package from here (choose Android 8.1 and ARM64)

3. Save both zip files on your phone’s SD card.

4. Switch off the phone and press Power + Volume Up to boot into TWRP.

5. In TWRP, select the Backup button to create a backup (recommended).

6. Now, select Wipe and then Advanced Wipe. Select Cache, System and Data partitions to be wiped and then Swipe to Wipe.

7. Go back to return to main TWRP menu, and then select Install.

8. Navigate to /sdcard, and select the LineageOS .zip package. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the package.

9. Install Gapps package using the same method.

10. Once done and before rebooting, select Wipe and wipe cache & dalvik cache and then reboot your device.
