Good news for Realme 2 Pro users – the company released January 2019 Android security update for the device. The latest ColorOS 5.2 update build RMX1801EX_11.A.15 enhances security (patch level January 5) and bring a new camera watermark feature to the handset. The latest ColorOS 5.2 stable update build RMX1801EX_11.A.15 for Realme 2 Pro is based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The official update log does not mention anything new, except January patch and new camera watermark. The OTA update is live now and it will take a couple of days to complete the roll out. All users are recommended to update their device to this version, as it includes latest security patches to protect users from vulnerabilities.

Install January 2019 security update on Realme-2-Pro

Realme 2 Pro users who have unlocked their device bootloader will not receive the OTA update, so in order to install the update users first lock the bootloader and install it manually. To lock the bootloader use the Unlock tool and exit in-depth test on your phone. Check this guide for details.

Note: The below method will not work if you installed TWRP recovery or a custom ROM on your device. It requires special tool to flash stock ColorOS. Realme will launch it soon for public use, so stay tuned.

How to Install OTA update on Realme 2 Pro Manually

1. Download latest ColorOS 5.2 OTA RMX1801EX_11.A.15 from here

2. Copy the package to the root directory of your phone.

3. Turn off your phone. Press and hold the Volume Down and the Power buttons simultaneously until booting into recovery mode.

4. In recovery, select language > From phone storage > Select the ColouOS OTA package > tap OK to install the OTA.

Once installation completes, tap Reboot to boot your phone into new ColorOS version. (Source – Realme)
