Back in April, CloudFlare launched its ‘privacy-first’ free consumer DNS resolver 1.1.1.1 for all platforms. It offers greater privacy and faster internet speed. Unfortunately, changing DNS on Android isn’t as simple as we do it in a computer. However, CloudFlare’s new Play Store app called “1.1.1.1: Faster & Safer Internet” makes things a lot easier.

We have already posted three methods to use the CloudFlare’s 1.1.1.1 DNS on Android phone, but these methods aren’t easy and inconvenient for newbie. With the new “1.1.1.1: Faster & Safer Internet” app you can connect to the secure and faster internet on your phone just with a few tap.

CloudFlare-1.1.1.1-DNS

Cloudflare claims that its DNS service is faster than the already popular OpenDNS and Google Public DNS. You can set up the new 1.1.1.1 DNS service on your Android, iOS, computer or Wi-Fi router itself. See this post for detailed instruction.

Cloudflare’s DNS switching app for Android is completely free (no ads) and really simple to use. All you need to toggle the switch to switch your device’s DNS to CloudFlare. Interested users can download the app from Play Store here. The app supports Android 5.0 Lollipop and above.

For your information, Public DNS servers (Domain Name System) such as OpenDNS, Google Public DNS, CloudFlare DNS, etc. can be used as an alternative to your ISP’s DNS server for faster and secure internet surfing.

In addition to being very faster than your ISPs DNS sever (most often), they offer many security layers to protect your PC from internet threats and prevent browsing bottleneck to speed up page loading. (Source)
