Xiaomi Mi and Redmi phone owners can soon enjoy Lite Mode. The company introduces Lite Mode for MIUI Launcher with MIUI 9 China Developer ROM 8.4.12. This feature ensures a clutter free, simple and minimalist home screen. Lite Mode is mainly intended for old aged people to get into their apps quickly from the usually cluttered home screen.

Xiaomi will release MIUI 9 China Developer ROM 8.4.12 soon. Likewise, MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM 8.4.12 will also release with enhanced Mi browser, fix for Camera crashes, fix for cannot move files to external SD card and more. However, the MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM 8.4.12 preview changelog does not mentioned Lite Mode.

MIUI-Lite-Mode

The MIUI Launcher home screen is usually cluttered with several app shortcuts. The Lite Mode chucks out this visual clutter, and keeps the home screen simple and minimalist. Xiaomi may bring this feature to MIUI 9 stable channel sooner or later.

Both MIUI 9 China Developer ROM and MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM will be released on coming Friday. Interested users can download and install the ROM and experience new feature before they arrive for everyone.

Regarding Android Oreo update for Mi and Redmi phone, Xiaomi soon will release Oreo update for Mi 5, Mi Note 2 and Mi Mix. The company has started Oreo beta testing for these devices.

Xiaomi Mi 6, Mi Mix 2, and Mi A1 has already updated to Android Oreo. Mi Note 3, Mi Max 2, Mi Max, Mi 5S, Mi 5S Plus and Mi 5X will also get the Oreo update soon.
