Oppo’s former sub-brand Realme has announced Bootloader unlock for Realme 1 and Realme 2 Pro. The OEM will release Bootloader unlock and Kernel sources for Realme 2 Pro by January 15, 2019 and it will be available for Realme 1 by middle of February 2019. However, it is unclear whether official unlock method void warranty of Realme 1 and Realme 2 Pro.
Unlocked bootloader is a mandatory for installing TWRP custom recovery, getting root access, installing custom ROMs, customizing the device as per users needs, and do various other things on the handset. Unofficial bootloader unlock method has been available for Realme 1 and Realme 2 Pro, but it will void device’s warranty and chances for bricking the device is high.
We will provide detailed guide on how to unlock bootloader of Realme 1 and Realme 2 Pro once the option is officially available. Realme has also announced January 2019 software update for all of its currently available devices – Realme 1, Realme 2, Realme C1, Realme 2 Pro and Realme U1.
Realme U1 will get ColorOS 5.2 update, latest security patch, brand new camera watermark with company’s new logo, new reboot option in shutdown interface, and more by middle of January 2019.

By the end of January 2019, Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro and Realme C1 will get Android security patch update, new Material Design theme and newly designed camera watermark with company’s new logo.
