Finally, stable version of OxygenOS 9.0 for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T has been released with Android 9 Pie. The update is available via OTA. Since the rollout takes places in phases, it will require some time to complete. Check for the update directly from the “System Updates” tab in the Settings app of OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T.

OxygenOS 9.0.0 will bring several new features and under the hood changes to both OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. Besides Android 9 Pie native features and December 2018 security patch, the update will bring a brand new UI, new navigation gestures, new Gaming mode 3.0, new Do Not Disturb (DND) mode with adjustable settings, Google Lens for camera, etc to both devices.

As said above, the incremental OTA roll out take places in phases, so it will take a few days to reach the OTA on all devices. However, to get it early, you can try a VPN app (like Tunnelbear)  and set the location to Germany or Canada. Then check the OTA update from the “System Updates” menu.

How to Install OxygenOS 9.0 on OnePlus 5/5T Manually

1. Download the full OTA update from above link to your phone.

2. Open the ‘Settings’ app.

3. Go to ‘System updates’, tap on the top right corner icon and in the menu, tap on Local upgrade.

4. Choose the upgrade package and then immediately upgrade. System will start the upgrade process and reboot. (Source)
