OnePlus has released OxygenOS Open Beta 17 and Open Beta 8 for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T with new features, improvements, bug fixes and latest security patches (May 2017). If you are participating in the beta program, you will receive the update in the coming days. Other users can download and install the update manually. Note that OxygenOS Open Beta 17/8 is still based on Android 7.1.1 and the OTA update weighs around 130MB.

OxygenOS Open Beta 17 and Open Beta 8 offer several new features, such as ambient display 2.0, Lift up display, sharing functionality for shot on OnePlus and all new OnePlus font. The update also includes various UI improvements, system optimizations and improvements. Also, the update offers better security with Android security patch level May 1, 2017.

What is new in OxygenOS Open Beta 17 (OnePlus 3) and Open Beta 8 (OnePlus 3T)

If you are participating in the OxygenOS Open Beta program, you will receive the new update over the air (OTA) automatically. If you are not participating, you can download the full ROM and install manually via ADB sideload.

Note that OxygenOS Open Beta 17 and Open Beta 8 is still based on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat, but enables users early access to new features. If you prefer stable version, then stick on the OxygenOS 4.1.3 (current stable version) for OnePlus 3/3T which is also based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat

1. Download OnePlus 3 Open Beta 17 full firmware package from here. For OnePlus 3T, download Open Beta 8 full firmware package from here.

2. After downloading the firmware on your computer, follow this installation instruction.
