The Chinese company OnePlus has released OxygenOS 5.1.6 stable update for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. The update includes October 2018 security patch along with a fix for problem related with Bluetooth stability for phone calls. Other important change in this update is Project Treble support, but it seems that seamsless system update isn’t supported yet.

OxygenOS 5.1.6 update is rolling out via OTA. Since the roll out is incremental, it will take a few hours or even a few days to get on all OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. If you cannot wait for the OTA, you can also download and install the update manually.

In case you cannot wait for the OTA, we suggest using any VPN app and setting the region to Canada or Germany to get the OTA update early. Alternatively, we suggest trying using the Oxygen Updater app get the OxygenOS 5.1.6 OTA update right now on your phone.

To install the full ROM manully, download OxygenOS 5.1.6 for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T from OnePlus download section. After downloading the update file, install the update via stock recovery as described below.

How to Install OxygenOS 5.1.6 Update for the OnePlus 5/5T

1. Download OxygenOS 5.1.6 zip file [here] and place it on internal storage.
2. Power off the phone and switch on by pressing Power+ Volume Down button.
3. Phone will boot into Recovery. In recovery, wipe Cache
4. Now, choose “Install from internal storage”, find your .zip file and flash it. Your device will reboot automatically after installing the OS.
