As promised earlier, Moto X4 Android One edition starts getting the Android Oreo update with build number OPW27.1. Launched in September 2017 with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, the Moto X4 Android One (Project Fi) edition is one of the guaranteed devices to get the upcoming Android P (possibly Android 9.0) update. Android 8.0 Oreo update comes with a number of features and enhancements.
Motorola starts rolling out the Android Oreo OTA (over the air) update with build number OPW27.1 to Moto X4 (Android One), and the software weighs around 1GB. The update comes with latest December 2017 security patches, which ensures enhanced security on your device.
After updating your phone to Oreo, you can enjoy features like redesigned UI, Auto fill password for apps, Picture in Picture mode (PIP), improved Battery Life, faster start up and more. Motorola has also added its own features to the latest software update.
Note that the incremental OTA update will get on your phone within a week or more. If you haven’t received the update notification yet on your phone, head over to Settings > About phone > System updates and manually check for an update.
For your information, Moto Z and Moto Z Force (Verizon) has also starts getting the Android 8.0 Oreo update.

How to Download and Install Android 8.0 Oreo (OPW27.1) on Android One Moto X4
1. Download the Oreo OTA (OPW27.1) for Moto X4 Android One from here (link will be updated soon)
2. Save the downloaded file to Root of memory card.
3. Now, go to Settings > About Phone > System Updates.
4. Update will be auto recognized and user will be prompted to apply update. (Source – Reddit)
