Huawei started their Android 9 Pie based EMUI 9 beta program on Huawei Mate 10, Huawei P20, Honor 10, and few other devices in China and Europe. Interested owners of these devices can now participate in the beta program and test out all the new Android 9.0 Pie that comes as EMUI 9 update. Below are how to join the beta program, eligible devices list and what the requirements are.

In order to join the Android Pie Beta program, you will need to download the HwFut app APK file (download ink below) and install it on your phone. In addition, you need HW ID (Huawei ID) to join for the beta program. If you have no HW ID, you can apply a new account by your email or mobile phone number.

Following European variants of Huawei/Honor devices are eligible for EMUI 9 (Android Pie) beta program.

Note that anyone can join on the beta program, and if you are selected, you will receive the beta update via OTA (over the air), which mean you do not need to install the update manually.

How to join Android 9 Pie (EMUI 9) update beta program

1. Download HwFut app APK file [HERE] and install it on your phone.

2. After installation, open the app and accept terms & condition.

3. In the next screen, login with your HW ID (if no HW ID, tap register and create a new ID).

4. After login, select Personal > Join Project > Available Project. You will receive OTA update notification once it is ready.

5. Once it is available, you can select to update your phone.

It is recommended that users should back up their data before testing, as the Beta is a developer version of the OS and might be unstable.
