Google starts rolling out a new update for its Phone app with Duo video calling feature, bug fixes and optimizations. Now, you can make video calls directly from the Phone/Dialer app. You can initiate a video call from the contacts card or call history, and upgrade a voice call to a video call. However, all these require Google Duo video calling app installed and activated on your phone.

Besides the new video calling option, Google Phone and Contact app offers several useful features as well. For example, it allows you to answer or reject calls from the notification, caller ID, automatically backup all of your contacts to the cloud, spam protection, block calls and others, etc.
