Google is continually enhancing its Messages app by adding several new features. Features such as the Gemini AI integration, 3D filters, full-screen effect, dual SIM RCS support, Messaging Layer Security (MLS), etc. are the latest features of Google Messages. The dual SIM RCS support is a much-awaited feature of Google Messages which is now rolling out to beta users in India and other regions.

RCS chat features of Google Messages

RCS (Rich Communication Services) in Google Messages has several advantages over the traditional SMS and MMS. It allows users to chat over Wi-Fi or mobile data. RCS chat lets users share better-quality photos and videos, engage in group chats, know when someone is typing, and share reactions. It will also show message read receipts.

How to Enable/Disable Dual SIM RCS on Android Device?

Google has started rolling out dual SIM RCS support to Messages app, and it is a server-side update. Once the update is available, you will get a notification when opening the Messages app. To enable or disable dual SIM RCS, follow these steps:

1. Open the Google Messages app and tap your profile photo.

2. Select “Messages settings” and tap the “General” option.

3. Next, tap “RCS chat” and turn On or Off RCS chats.

4. Next, select the SIM you want to enable or disable RCS chat.
