ASUS’s latest flagship, Zenfone 5Z is receiving a new software update that brings “Lift to Wake” function and “Gesture Mode” to the device. The update also includes general bug fixes and optimizations. Recently, the company rolled out an update (80.11.37.95) with several camera features like RAW file support, Panorama shooting mode, on/off button for EIS, slow motion video quality, etc.

A most important change that this new update (80.30.96.80) brings to ZenFone 5Z (ZS620KL) is “Lift to Wake” function. Once you updated to this version, you don’t need to press the power button to unlock your phone. It can recognize your face and unlock when you just lift the phone.

Manual Installation: Experienced users can install the update manually. ASUS has made available full firmware for download, if you cannot install the OTA. Suggest to backup data before starting the software update. Check this guide or this guide for reference. [Source]
