Google has released Android 16 Beta 2 for the public, with a slew of changes and improvements for both users and developers. The new features include enhanced camera controls, additional options for measurements and temperature settings, an “extra dim” feature, and fixes for issues like freezing and restarting during calls.
The Android 16 Beta 2, with build number BP22.250124.009, is now available for Pixel 6 through Pixel 9 models. This update can be obtained via over-the-air (OTA) update for those who have opted into the beta program, or it can be downloaded and installed manually using the Android Flash Tool.
Notably, the Android 16 Beta 2 introduces a range of exciting new features and enhancements. Key updates include the ability to set your preferred measurement system and region independently of the system language, providing greater flexibility and customization.
Other significant improvements include enhanced camera capabilities, such as support for fine color temperature and tint adjustments, which is particularly beneficial for professional video recording. Additionally, the new beta offers manual control over specific aspects of exposure, allowing you to fine-tune your settings while still leveraging the auto-exposure algorithm.
Furthermore, the update introduces Motion photo capture intent actions, as well as Ultra HDR image enhancements, which promise to deliver even more stunning and detailed visuals.
These updates demonstrate a clear commitment to refining and expanding the Android user experience, and we can expect even more innovative features to emerge as the beta program continues to evolve.
