The budget variant of Xiaomi Mi 9 starts receiving a new update with May security patch. The MIUI 10.3.1.0.PFBMIXM stable update for the Mi 9 SE global variant brings new option for smoothening notch curves on full screen mode, new AI camera modes, and integrates many bug fixes as well as system optimizations.
The MIUI 10.3.1.0.PFBMIXM Global Stable update will improve overall performance of Mi 9 SE as this update fixes many bugs. For example, it will fix errors that come up after unlocking the device in landscape mode, fingerprint unlock didn’t always work with the screen off and more. The Chinese giant starts rolling out the MIUI 10.3.1.0.PFBMIXM OTA update. Since it is rolling out in stages, Xiaomi Mi 9 SE users need to wait a couple of days get it on their device. You can check for the update on your phone by going to Settings > About phone > check system update. If you cannot wait for the OTA, download the MIUI 10.3.1.0 full recovery ROM from below link to install it manually.

How to Install the Update?
To download the OTA update, launch the “Updater” app on your Mi 9SE and tap on “Check for updates”. If the update found, tap on “Install” to download the OTA update.
Another way of updating your phone is by downloading the Recovery ROM and Fastboot ROM. We would recommend you to go for the Recovery ROM, as it is easy to install and will not wipe your data.
After downloading the ROM, follow our installation guide. If you installed TWRP recovery on your phone, you can install the recovery ROM via TWRP.
