Lenovo K3 Note owners in India can now enjoy Android 6.0 Marshmallow and TheaterMax. Lenovo starts rolling out the Marshmallow OTA (over-the-air) update for K3 Note in India with support for TheaterMax technology and Marshmallow features like Doze battery management, simplified app permission system, etc. As the OTA update rolled out in phases, it will take some time to get the update on all K3 Note devices.

In this guide, we will show you how to manually update Lenovo K3 Note to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The most exciting feature the update brings to the device is official support for TheaterMax technology, besides Marshmallow features.

TheaterMax technology (first introduced in Lenovo K4 Note) brings an immersive large screen experience on Lenovo K3 Note via Lenovo’s AntVR headset. TheaterMax converts digital multimedia content into a three-dimensional (3D) experience, giving users a virtual large screen cinematic experience when viewed through a VR headset.

The Marshmallow update for Lenovo K3 Note weighs 1657MB (build number K50a40_S322_160314_ROW), which you can download and install manually, if you have any issue updating via OTA.

First, if you have not received the OTA notification for Android 6.0 update, check it by going to Settings -> About phone -> System updates -> Check for update. If update is available, let it download and install.

If no update is found for some reasons or cannot update via OTA due to network issue, you can download the OTA update file and flash it manually.
