Huawei P30 Pro has a depth-sensing Time-of-flight (ToF) camera. You can use this sensor to see in the night with the help of ToF Viewer app. The app uses the infrared, depth-sensing camera of Huawei P30 Pro to view in the dark. Honor View 20, Samsung Note 10+, Samsung S10 5G and Samsung S20+ have also ToF camera, so you can use the app on these phones as well to view in the night.

While TOF Viewer app turns Huawei P30 Pro and other compatible devices, such as the Samsung S10 5G, Galaxy S20 Plus, etc. into Night Vision goggles, Xiaomi’s Poco F1 and Mi 8 have an option to shoot in the night. Both devices feature a dedicated IR camera for quick and accurate Face Unlock in the night. You can use this camera to take photos in the dark. See how it is.

The TOF Viewer app is still at the early access stage, so the stability and reliability of the working aren’t guaranteed. Also, currently the app supports Huawei P30 Pro and Honor View 20 only, as most the phones do not have a compatible ToF sensor.

Note that the Night Vision/ToF Viewer app has updated with support for Samsung Note 10+, Samsung S10 5G and Samsung S20 Plus. Samsung S20 Plus and Galaxy Note 10 Plus offers comparatively higher resolution (320×240 pixels) images.

As you may know, Huawei P30 Pro is all about photography. The device features Leica Quad camera system, 10x hybrid zoom with camera features like HDR+, Night Shot, Dual View recording mode, Superzoom, Super Macro, Wide aperture mode, Portrait mode, Selfie mode, etc.
