Huawei is inviting all Honor 8X users to test EMUI 9 (Android 9 Pie) beta on their phone. If you want to try all the features of the latest EMUI 9 on your Honor 8X before everyone else, then you can join the beta program. Read on to know how to join the beta program to get EMUI 9 on Honor 8X.

Huawei has already updated many of its devices to Android 9 Pie stable version that comes as EMUI 9.0. Honor 8X was launched in September 2018 with EMUI 8.2 (Android 8.1 Oreo) and the device will soon updated to Android 9 Pie once the beta program completed. How to get Honor-8X EMUI 9 Beta

In order to join the Android Pie Beta program, you will need to download the HwFut app APK file (download ink below) and install it on your Honor 8X. In addition, you need HW ID (Huawei ID) to join for the beta program. If you have no HW ID, you can apply a new account by your email or mobile phone number.

How to Join Honor 8X EMUI 9 (Android Pie) Beta Program

Note: Any user can join on the beta program, and if you are selected, you will receive the beta update via OTA (over the air), which mean you do not need to install the update manually.

1. Download HwFut app APK file [HERE] and install it manually on your phone.

2. After installation, open the HwFut app and accept terms & condition.

3. On the next screen, login with your HW ID (if no HW ID, tap register and create a new ID).

4. After login, select Personal > Join Project > Available Project. You will receive OTA update notification once it is ready.

5. Once it is available, you can select to update your phone.

IMPORTANT: It is recommended that users should back up their data before testing, as the Beta is a developer version of the OS and might be unstable. (source – xda, honor)
