Asus silently rolled out Android Oreo update for Zenfone 3 Laser along with latest security patch. Zenfone 3 Laser Oreo update comes with build number 80.20.52.90 and download available for ZC551KL variant. The OTA (over the air) update started to distribute to the device and it will take about one week to get the update across devices.
Android 8.0 Oreo update will bring several new features to Asus Zenfone 3 Laser, such as the revamped notification shade, autofill script, better battery life and Picture in Picture mode. The update also includes performance boost, general bug fixes and latest security patches. Once you upgrade your ZenFone 3 Laser to Oreo, your phone become incredibly fast and fluid.
Asus Zenfone 3 Laser ZC551KL was launched in August 2016 with Android marshmallow on board. Later the device was upgraded to Android Nougat. How to check Android Oreo update for ZenFone 3 Laser
The upgrade requires more than 2GB free space in the internal storage, so please free up space on your internal storage before starting the software update.
If you did not receive the update notification on your ZenFone 3 Laser (ZE551KL), check it by going to Settings > About > System Update to update manually.

Download and Install Oreo update manually
If you cannot wait for the OTA update, you can download and install Asus Zenfone 3 Laser Oreo official firmware manually. The update file build WW-80.20.52.90 weighs around 1.89GB, so ensure a good Internet connection before downloading.
Note: You should download correct firmware build for your SKU. Check the SKU via Settings > About > software information > Build number and see the software version for WW, CN, JP, etc.
1. Download Zenfone 3 Laser ZE551KL_ WW-80.20.52.90 firmware file (1.89GB)
2. Double click the firmware zip file to see another zip file it.
3. If another zip file found, unzip the downloaded firmware zip file
4. Transfer the firmware zip file to the root directory of your phone’s internal storage.
5. Disconnect your phone from PC. You will see firmware update notification popped up on status bar.
6. Select it and follow steps to update firmware.
After completing the installation, your ZenFone 3 Laser will reboot into the Android 8.0 Oreo.
