Huawei has released January 2019 Google security patch for Honor 8 Pro. The update will improve the security of the devices. It comes with build number DUK-L09 8.0.0.335 (C675) for Indian variant Honor 8 Pro. Unfortunately, the update is based on EMUI 5.0 Android 8.0 Oreo. In all the probability, Honor 8 Pro won’t upgraded to EMUI 9.0 (Android Pie).

Honor 8 Pro January 2019 security update (build 8.0.0.335) is rolling now and the OTA update weighs around 121 MB for devices runs on build 8.0.0.334. The OTA update (DUK-L09 8.0.0.335(C675CUSTC675D2) is available for download now. The OTA update roll out in batches, so not all get the update at once. It may take a week or more to complete the OTA update.

How update Honor 8 Pro

– Open Settings app

– Tap “About phone”, and then tap on “System update”

– You will see the update. Follow the on-screen steps to install the update.

If no update found, we recommend downloading Huawei’s HiCare app from Play store. The app lets you install the new update on your device without any trouble. If you prefer manual installation, the you can download DUK-L09 8.0.0.335 (C675) firmware file and flash manually as given below.

NOTE: To install the B335 (8.0.0.335) OTA update firmware manually, your Honor 8 Pro should be running on software version B334 (8.0.0.335).

Requirements:

1. More than 50% charge remaining on the phone.

2. Backup all of your personal data, including phone book, text messages, emails etc.

3. Ensure enough storage space on your phone.

How to download and install stock firmware Honor 8 Pro

1. Use Huawei Firmware Finder app to download stock OTA update file or full firmware for your device.

2. Unzip downloaded firmware file to get UPDATE.APP.

3. Create ‘dload’ folder to root of the SDcard. Copy and paste the “UPDATE.APP” into the ‘dload’ folder.

4. Now, go to Settings > Update > Menu > Local update. Select the file UPDATE.APP and install it.

If above method does not work, you can try the HuRUpdater method, but it requires unlocked bootloader and TWRP recovery installed on the phone.
