Downloading and manually installing the update is the best method to get MIUI 12 update on your Xiaomi phone before anyone else. Also, it isn’t a too complicated method. Only need to download the MIUI Recovery firmware for your phone and install the update manually.

  1. Download MIUI update zip file and transfer it to the base storage of the phone.
  2. Go to System Update (Updater app) from the About Phone section under Settings.
  3. Tap on MIUI version logo repeatedly to enable the More update option.
  4. Tap on Menu (three dots) at the top right corner and select the Choose update package option.
  5. Select the MIUI 12 zip file and tap on OK.

It will install the MIUI 12 update on your Redmi or Mi phone. However, this method will not work if you are shifting from a beta version to a stable one. In this case you need to flash the fastboot firmware via Mi Flash tool.
