Asus has updated ZenFone 4 Pro to Android 8.0 Oreo that improves overall working of the phone. The update has also includes new features and UI enhancements. The FOTA update with build number 15.0410.1802.34 will arrive on ZenFone 4 ZS551KL variants in the next few days. Let us see what is new in this update.

Besides upgrading ZenFone 4 Pro to Android Oreo, this new update (firmware version 15.0410.1802.34) brings new ‘Long screenshot’ function to the device that lets you capture vertically scrollable areas of the screen (not just the active screen), better battery life, swipe up to access app drawer feature and more.

Released on March 12, 2018, the update also includes general bug fixes and optimizations. If you have not received the FOTA notification for the update, check it from Settings > About > System Update > and check for update manually.

Note that as this is the major software upgrade, this update will decrease some storage space on your device. We recommend to backup important files before upgrading.

Tech-savvy users can try to manually update firmware by downloading the file. You may follow below guide to install the 15.0410.1802.34 update manually on Asus Zenfone 4 Pro ZS551KL.

Keep in mind that you should download correct firmware build for your SKU. Check the SKU by going to Settings > About > software information > Build number and see the software version for WW, CN, JP, etc.

1. Download 15.0410.1802.34 update zip file for ZenFone 4 Pro from here.

2. Double click the ZIP file. If you see another ZIP file in it, then unzip the downloaded file.

3. Transfer the downloaded ZIP file to the root directory of your phone’s internal storage.

4. Disconnect your phone from PC. You will see firmware update notification popped up on status bar.

5. Select it and follow steps to update firmware. After completing the installation, your phone will reboot into the new OS (source).
