Notification Peek is an Android app that is designed to bring Paranoid Android Peek like feature to any phone running on Android KitKat. PA’s Peek is a similar to Moto X’s Active Display feature, which lets you know notifications without needing to unlock the device. Peak looks like a light version of Active Display and shows notification only when you pick up the phone. It is to save the battery life and uses gyroscope and proximity sensors for this purpose.

Peak is only available with Paranoid Android customROM; a standalone application is not available, but don’t need to worry. The Notification Peek app can bring similar feature to any phone, however only works on stock Android 4.4 KitKat ROMs. Here is how to install the app.

Download Notification Peek (download link at the end of this post) and install as normal apk file. After installation, make sure to give Notification Peek access to notifications. You can do this by clicking on enable notification access from within the app.
