Followed by Bitdefender, the leading Internet Security Software developer McAfee just launched a new URL shortnening service. The advantage of this free service is that McAfee will check the short url for dangerous malware spreading, spammy, bot control sites prior to being show and ensure users security.
McAfee uses their Global threat intelligence for finding dangerous web sites. You can create short URL for any site, but when someone clicks on it, if the site is flagged as dangerous it will throw up a warning page to give users a chance to back out before visiting.
That is, if the site is dangerous (Red ) it will blocks the user from opening, if the site is suspicious (Yellow) this service warns the user but allows a click and If the sites are safe (Green) then they will be displayed straight away. Visit McAfee URL Shortner Service (via)
