These budget devices are now getting new software update (MIUI with a bunch of new features, optimizations and bug fixes. Xiaomi starts rolling out MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM V9.1.2.0 OTA (over the air) update to these devices, which will get on your device in the coming days.

MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM v9.1.2.0 recovery image and fastboot files are now available for both Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite. Tech-savvy users can download and install the update manually without waiting for the OTA update. Below is what is now in this update and how to download and install the update on these devices.
