Huawei’s Honor View 10 in India starts getting a new firmware update with lot of new features and latest security patches. The latest update (8.0.0.161) brings the much-expected EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) feature for video recording, Call Recording function, July security patch, Thermal optimizations and more to the device.

The new update also includes RideMode APK support. This is certainly a good option while driving a vehicle. This mode auto responds to a call while driving. User can set a voice message (recorded by your own voice) or personalized text message to respond a call. One can also share location info with the caller. You can on/off this option in system settings menu.

Honor-View-10

Huawei starts rolling out the OTA update (build BKL-L09 8.0.0.161(C675CUSTC675D2) to Honor View 10 in India and as it roll out in batches it will take a few days to complete the roll out. Similar update is also available in other Asian regions and Europe.

If you have not received the OTA notification yet, check the update manually by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates > check for the new firmware. This is a little big update (697MB), so use a good Wi-Fi or 4G connection to download the file.

You can also download and install the update via the Huawei HiCare app. Download Huawei’s HiCare app from Play store, which lets you install the new update on your phone without any trouble.
