Motorola has released Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA update for 2nd Gen Moto X (XT1092). This new update (v23.16.1, build LPE23.32-25.1) brings several improvements and new features to Moto X (2014), which includes better notification control, device protection, chop twice to turn on torch, OEM unlock option under Developer Options, as well as this update includes a number of bugs fixes.

An XDA contributor has captured the official OTA update for Moto X 2014 (XT1092), which you can install manually on your device. However, please note that the file mentioned here supports only Moto X XT1092 and in select regions. The file listed below is meant for ‘reteu’ region only. Check it by going to Settings -> About phone and after the system version see the region.
How to Manually install Android 5.1 OTA Update on Moto X 2014 (XT1092)

Important Note: The firmware listed below is the over-the-air (OTA) file from XDA Developers, but it is the same that Motorola sent out to users. As this is an official file, you cannot install it on a rooted phone. It supports Moto X (2014) XT1092. Do not try to install it on other models.
Note: Backup every data on your phone, just in case.
Manual Installation Procedure
1. Download 5.1 OTA update zip file [HERE] (via – xda) (Blur_Version.22.121.1.victara_reteu.reteuall.en.EU .zip) and move it to your phone’s internal memory.
2. Now, reboot your phone into recovery mode.
To do so, press Vol (-) and Power buttons together for few seonds. Choose Recovery using Vol (-) button and select it using Vol (+) button. If nothing sees, press and hold Vol (-) & Vol (+) for few seconds and while holding them, press and release the power button.
3. From recovery menu, choose install update from sdcard
4. Select the previously transferred OTA .zip file
5. Once completed, reboot your phone.
Your Moto X 2014 will now boot into Android 5.1 Lollipop (Source – XDA)
