Google Photos is a great app that most people use on their Android phones, but anyone can see all the photos and videos stored on your device by opening the app. Most people don’t like to show some of their photos and videos saved on their phones to others. If you want to hide your photos in Google Photos, the below tricks will help you.
Like most Gallery apps, there is no dedicated option to hide private photos and videos in Google Photos app, yet, there is an option not to show your photos and videos in the main album view. You can use the Archive feature to quarantine your private photos and videos from the main album feed.
- Open Google Photos app and long tap on a photo
- Select all the photos and videos that you want to hide
- Tap on the three-dot menu on the top left corner
- Tap on Move to archive
Once you archive your photos and videos, it will disappear from the main album view. All your archived photos and videos will move to another folder. To access your hide photos and videos in Google Gallery, open the app, tap on the Hamburger menu and tap on Archive.
Yes, this feature doesn’t have a Password or Fingerprint authentication protection, but it comes handy if you don’t like to install a third-party app to password protect your personal photos or videos. Google may add password protection feature to the Photos app in a future update. At present the above given method is the only solution, if you don’t like to install a third-party app on your phone.
