As announced during the launch event, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has got the Face Unlock feature and became the first Xiaomi phone to get this feature. The new software update MIUI 9.2.4.0.NEIMIEK brings face unlock to the device. Here is how to install the new firmware update on your Redmi Note 5 Pro and how to enable Face Unlock on it. By enabling it, you can unlock your lockscreen by just looking at your phone.

Redmi Note 5 Pro’s Face Unlock works using AI (artificial intelligence) and its 20MP selfie camera. Unlike iPhone X which uses hardware-based FaceID for facial recognition, Redmi Note 5 Pro uses the front camera for the function, so the performance of the Face Unlock is highly depends on ambient light.
