Android 8.1 Oreo based ColorOS 5.0 public beta version has been released for Oppo R11S and R11S Plus. The update comes with enhanced UI, improved Smart Assistant, new navigation gestures, new ringtones, February 2018 security patch and more. Here is how to get ColorOS 5.0 public beta on Oppo R11S and Oppo R11S Plus.

Getting ColorOS 5.0 public beta (Android 8.1 Oreo) on Oppo R11S/R11S Plus is a very easy process. Users first need to update their device to latest available software version (180106) and then install the Beta upgrade app on the device to join for the ColorOS beta program.

Once enrolled for the ColorOS beta program, users can check for the ColorOS 5.0 update by going to Settings > Software Update. Note that the ColorOS beta program currently does not support Oppo R11T variants, but according to an XDA member, the beta works on older Oppo R11 and R11 Plus.

How to get ColorOS 5.0 public beta: Before start, please note that you cannot go back to older software version once upgraded to Oreo.

If you are already enrolled for beta, check the latets public beta update by going to phone Settings > Software Update. If the device runs on stable ColorOS, then follow below guide to get the beta update.

How to Install ColorOS 5.0 public beta:

1. Requires Oppo R11S/R11S Plus and R11/R11 Plus

2. Update your device to latest software version (180106).

3. Download PPO R11s/R11s Plus beta upgrades .apk [here] and install it on the device.

4. Open the app and tap on the Green button (with Chinese text) four times.
