It might seem like dark mode has taken over the world. Google implemented a system-wide dark theme with Android 10, and the good news is that many apps have already had a dark mode. But, there is no dark mode for the most popular messaging app WhatsApp, at the time of this writing.

Fortunately, you can enable WhatsApp dark mode on Realme phone running on ColorOS 6 (Android 9). If the white chat window is annoying, you don’t need to wait for WhatsApp to add the dark theme. Your Realme phone lets you do it right now.

Realme rolled out a system-wide dark theme for all of its smartphones as a part of the ColorOS 6 update. There is a dark mode for third-party apps option that allows you to add a dark theme on your favorite app.

To enable WhatsApp dark mode on Realme phone, update your device to the latest ColorOS 6 version and then turn on the Dark Mode by going to the Realme Lab section (see instruction).

Now, go to Settings > Realme Lab > Dark Mode > Dark mode for third-party apps > and tap on WhatsApp to turn on dark theme.

FYI, the dark mode is a Lab feature on Realme phones running ColorOS 6.0. Realme Lab is the beta testing section that allows you to try out the beta version of OS functions.

It means the system-wide dark theme may not be fully functional, and not all apps support it. We noticed that the dark mode for third-party apps supports WhatsApp on Realme 3 and 3i. Let us know do other Realme phones support it.
