Xiaomi Mi 6 was launched a year back, but still it has support from developer communities. The device recently got Project Treble support (unofficially), which means Mi 6 owners can flash Generic System Image (GSI) on it. Here is how to enable Project Treble on Mi 6 and flash GSI (Generic System Image).
To be able to enable Project Treble and flash GSI on Xiaomi Mi 6 all you need to update your device to firmware version 8.4.19 or later and TWRP recovery.

Note that Xiaomi Mi 6 does not have official Project Treble, which means it has A- partition only, while Project Treble-supported device has A/B partition. With “Project Trouble reloaded”, you can enable Project Treble support on Mi 6, thanks to XDA senior member NeoArian. Read more about Project Treble.

For your information, GSI (Generic System Images) are custom ROMs meant for no specific device. You can install any GSI ROM on any Treble enabled devices. You can download GSI from this XDA thread.
