How to check for Android 9 Pie update on General Mobile 8
If you have not received the Android 9 Pie OTA update on your GM8, check it by going to “Settings” > “System” > “System Update” > check for new updates, and install them.
If no update found, download Android 9 Pie OTA file for General Mobile 8 and sideload manually as given below.

How to upgrade GM 8 to Android 9 Pie manually
Method 1:
1. Download GM 8 Android 9 Pie OTA update ZIP file (1.2GB) from here
2. Transfer the OTA update zip file to your phone’s internal storage
3. Boot your phone into recovery mode, and select Apply update from SDcard.
4. Navigate to the OTA update zip file to flash it. Once done, your phone will reboot.
Method 2:
If above method does not work for you, then follow the ADB sideload method. It requires ADB and Fastboot driver setup on your computer.
1. Download GM8 Android 9 Pie OTA update ZIP file from above link to your PC
2. Save the OTA zip file on your PC (inside ADB installation folder/Platform Tools folder)
3. Boot GM8 into stock Recovery and select ‘Apply update from ADB’
4. Connect your phone to your PC via a USB cable
5. Open a command window from where the Android 9 Pie OTA zip file is saved
6. Type the command ‘adb devices’ to ensure your connection with your PC.
7. Now, type the command ‘adb sideload ota-update.zip’ and hit Enter key. [Replace the “ota-update.zip” with the actual filename of the OTA file]
8. Once the installation process finishes, select ‘Reboot system now’ on your phone.
