Google’s Adaptive Icons allows app developers to create icons that will have different shapes for different devices. This feature ensures a consistent look on each phone. Nova Launcher 5.5 Beta version bring this feature to phones runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and above. Here is how to use it.

The latest beta version of Nova Launcher (v5.5) features Adaptive icons and offers 5 Adaptive Icon styles, such as round, square, rounded square, squircle and follow system. Also, there is an option called ‘Make legacy icons’ which makes all icons match in style by scaling and placing legacy icons on a background. You can use this feature on Android 5.0 and up.

With Nova Launcher Adaptive Icons feature, you can change icon style both in home screen and app screen, by selecting desired icon style. It means, you can now have same shape icons for all apps on your phone.

How to Use Nova Launcher Adaptive Icon

1. Install beta version of Nova Launcher from here and set it as your default launcher.

2. Long press on the home screen and select Nova Settings menu.

3. Now, select ‘Look & Feel’ option and then select ‘Adaptive icon Shape’ option.

4. In the next screen, select desired icon style for your phone. That’s all.
