Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy S4, Note 2 and Note 3 might not see an official release soon. However, folks over at XDA developers have developed working port of Android Lollipop build for rooted Galaxy S4, Note 2 and Note 3 owners. Based on the CynogenMod 12 (Lollipop), these unofficial ROMs let users enjoy Lollipop on their Galaxy device.

Before you get start with flashing these ROMs, please note that Samsung Galaxy S4, Note 2 and Note 3 Android 5.0 Lollipop port is not ready to be used as a daily driver yet. In fact, they are experimental and a number of things do not work, so use them at your own risk.

Galaxy S4 GT-I9505: The unofficial CyanogenMod 12 (Lollipop) for the Samsung Galaxy S4 (Qualcomm variants) is an experimental Lollipop port (alpha build). Known issues are External SD, GPS, Infrared (IR Blaster), NFC, RIL and Sound will not work. The developer AntaresOne may fix these issues soon.

Galaxy Note 2: Called NamelessROM, the ASOP based Android 5.0 rom for Note 2 is also is experimental build. Known issues are Camera, Home button, SIM, etc. will not work properly.

Galaxy Note 3: This CyanogenMod 12 based rom is also an experimental build. Known issues are random Reboots, video recording (Front & Back) not working, some Audio codecs not working, some functions at Home button not worked, some layout bugs, and Keyboard works partially.

Installing these ROMs is simple, but requires custom recovery installed on your phone. Just download the ROM zip file and Gapps zip file from respective links, boot your device into recovery mode, wipe data & cache partitions, flash the Rom and Gapps zip files and then reboot your device.

Important Note: Keep in mind that, currently ROMs listed above are experimental and contain several bugs. It may brick your device, so use  at your own risk!
