After rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo based OxygenOS Open Beta (Open Beta 26/17) for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, OnePlus now starting to roll out Android 8.0 Oreo based OxygenOS update for OnePlus 5 as closed Beta. It means users can expect Oreo based OxygenOS Open Beta for the device soon. Meanwhile, tech-savvy users can test the leaked Oxygen OS Oreo update on OnePlus 5.
Popular OEMs like Samsung, Huawei, LG, etc. have already started Beta testing Android 8.0 Oreo for their flagshiped devices. However, OnePlus is the first smartphone manufacturer to deliver the latest Android version for majority of its phones. OnePlus 3, 3T and OnePlus 5 have received Oreo update as beta.
Comes to the Oneplus 5 Oreo update, the build is not yet ready for public test. This is the very first beta build and many major aspects of the OS are not working as expected.
