We have some good news for Honor 8 Pro owners. Huawei officially released stable GPU Turbo update for the handset along with a bunch of new features. GPU Turbo is Huawei’s “groundbreaking hardware-software integration and graphic processing acceleration technology” that optimizes the mobile gaming experience on the handset.
Honor 8 Pro owners in India starts receiving the update with build number 8.0.0.331. Alongside GPU Turbo, the update will also include call recording feature, Party Mode APK, latest security patch and more. However, the bad news is that the update is still based on Android 8.0 Oreo. In addition, there is no chance to get the Android Pie update for the device.
The OTA update is now live (DUK-L09 8.0.0.331(C675CUSTC675D2) and since it is rolling out in batches, not everybody gets the update at once. It may take a week to complete the roll out.

The OTA update weighs around 878 MB. If you have not received the update yet, check it by going to Settings > About Phone > System updates. You’ll see the update. Follow the on-screen steps to install the update.
If you are unable to install the update through OTA, you can download and flash the firmware manually on your device, but it requires some technical skill. We recommend downloading Huawei’s HiCare app from Play store that lets you install the new update on your device without any trouble.
Before downloading the update, ensure above 50% battery charge remaining on the phone. In addition, download over WiFi or LTE network is recommended. Though the update will not wipe the data, recommend a back up before upgrading to this version. Also, ensure enough storage space on your phone.
